Design Notes:

  1. A retainer is recommended for:
    - Chuting that is 6' or more above the floor.
    - Preventing shingling of sliding parts due to part back pressure.
    -Maintaining orientation of parts
  2. When using retainer rails, retainer strap should be used on 1'-0" centers
  3. Approximate pitches for chuting:
(Up to 2 lbs.) Part rolling, pitch about 1" to 2"/ft.
(2 lbs. & over) Part rolling, pitch under 1"/ft
(Up to 2 lbs.) Part sliding, pitch about 1" to 2"/ft.
(2 lbs. & over) Part sliding, pitch under 1"/ft
  4. Approximate part weight range:
    Under 3lbs. - 1/4" bolts
    3 to 10 lbs. - 5/16" bolts
    over 10 lbs - 3/8" bolts
  5. For wide roller bearing chute cross sections, parts will flow best when the bearings are mounted on a center bearing rail, which provides greater bearing contact.
  6. For best results, allow 1/8" overall clearance from side rails to part and from top of part to retainer rail.
